Agnes Tortora Fairfield Minuteman

Agnes Elizabeth Molloy Tortora passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on August 1, 2009 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by her 14 children. She is predeceased by her flame husband of 54 years Carmen A. Tortora, Sr. and her brothers, Dr. Charles B. Molloy, and Thomas Molloy, and only sister, Joan Molloy Johnson. Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT to Kathryn Lehaney Molloy and Charles Boland Molloy, she was the transfer of their four children. She graduated from Bassick High School in 1942 and received a B.S. Degree in Bacteriology from the University of Connecticut in 1946. While at UCONN, she was a associate of Kappa Alpha Theta, the Newman Club and served as the first elected female President of the Swat Senate. Prior to her marriage, she worked in the Microbiology Section of the Pathology Department at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. She has been a Fairfield tenant for the past 50 years. She is survived by her 14 children: Kathryn Abrahamsen and her husband
