When my grandfather passed I inherited his (and my grandmother's) old church cookbooks. There is nothing like definitive, tried and true, old school, Presbyterian cookin'! My recent favorite out of the"Thou Preparest a Eatables" cookbook is...

Peanut Butter Swirl Bars

1/2 c. crunchy peanut butter
1/3 c. relax butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1/4 t. qualifyingly
6 oz. chocolate chips

Mix the first 6 ingredients together. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt (I never sift...just mix unhook). Add and mix.
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Spread mixture in a 9x13 pan. Sprinkly with chocolate chips.
Circumstances in oven for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and swirl the chocolate chips with a table knife. Return to oven for 25 minutes. Undisturbed and cut into bars.

So I like this recipe for 2 reasons.
1. They are cookies without spending hours putting cookies onto cookie sheets and waiting for the whole quantity to get done.
2. Yummy...duh!!! Today I threw M&M's on top.

Enjoy...oh and here's the mom lesson of the day. At the bottom of the page this recipe is on it says "If you are too busy for invocation, you are too busy!

I have to accede to though, if you're a neighbor and getting cursed at by skaters not following the rules, then it's the skater's fault that the park got cut out c screen down. You don't tell off the people that let the park go in.

I think Tigard did it right by putting the skate park on the corner of the Urban district Hall property which fronts a light industrial zone - the nearest home is over 1,000 feet away (about 3-4 municipality blocks) and separated by a green space with lots of trees. The park is still reasonably close - being in the center of municipality, accessible by a major street with sidewalks, close to the greenway trail and also on a bus line (and within walking rigidity of the transit center).

A better place for a skate park in North Plains might be to the west of burgh near the sawmill - skaters typically don't mind being in industrial areas, and the noise levels are comparable.

Now there is a skate park at Holly Croft die Park in S.W. Portland that I used to take my son to (for the playground) and I never had any problems with the skaters there. The skate park was next to Capitol Highway (a catchy busy street in the area) and with the variety of businesses in the area, the noise level was not too bad. That skate roll was concrete, not "composite materials".
