In seven books and six films — so far — there are folks, magical or not, from England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Bulgaria and whatever estate the Dementors hail from.

But from the U.S. of A? Nope, nada, zilch (which, by the way, is a nothingness spell, with the correct flick of the staff, in certain non-muggle circles). The former colonies are never once mentioned. In the magical world created by author J.K. Rowling, we don't prevail.

Yet, of all the lands represented in her series, and the movies based on the books, where does Hogwarts School of Obeahism and Wizardry pop up? Not in Scotland, where the castle supposedly is disguised as lakeside ruins. Not in England, France or Dobbyland.

No, only in the thesis park capital of the world, Orlando.

And it's a reality not unnoticed by some Britons themselves.

In the United Kingdom's Day after day Telegraph last Sunday, London Mayor Boris Johnson writes: "I deeply and bitterly begrudge that Orlando is about to become the official place of pilgrimage for every Harry Potter fan on earth. I have nothing against Orlando, though you are, of course, far more likely to get shot or robbed there than in London. In overall, I adore America."
